Weight Loss Tips Even YOU Can Handle

Losing hope rather than losing weight? Don’t do anything rash like starving yourself and spending countless hours at the gym while you could be doing something else. Consider the several reasonable ways you can attain weight loss. Instead of helping yourself to another slice of that calorie-laden cake, try helping yourself and get healthy with these five foolproof tips for weight loss:

1. Eat at regular hours. Sometimes you think nothing of it, but eating at irregular intervals would render your diet ineffective. It is advisable to set a specific time for each meal and to adhere to it diligently.

2. Don’t miss your meals. Not eating doesn’t necessarily equate to losing weight. Don’t even think of starving yourself, that isn’t the right way at all. Missing a meal would most likely tempt you to make your next meal larger, causing more calories to turn into fat. Thus, you gain more weight.

3. Take your time in eating. Remember how we were always told to chew our food properly? This advice is no less significant now than it was before. When we eat too fast, we often don’t realize that we are already overreating. Slow eating can make you enjoy your meal, and more importantly, can make you know when to stop.

Are you aware of the hidden sugar in many of the foods that you eat? Many foods have sugar, in one form or another, that is added during the processing of the food. Even if the food says that it is zero carbs, there may be sugars in the food that raises the carb level but doesn’t have to be reported as carbs.

No longer is carb counting enough if you are on the South Beach Diet. You should look on the food labels before consuming processed foods to make sure that there are no hidden carbs.

Also called simple carbohydrates, sugars are an ingredient present in many natural food. Food manufacturers will add sugars to many processed foods, mostly because of the taste of the public. People like their foods sweet.

Easy Ways to Fit Exercise in at Work or Home

Do you sit at a desk all day or spend much of your time at home sitting? It is easy to burn calories when you are at work or at home watching the
television.

Find reasons to stand. Standing burns calories.

While not everyone can stand at their desks there are chances during your day that you could stand instead of sit. Try standing and talking to coworkers during your break rather than sitting in the break room surrounded by high calorie junk food.

A great way of sneaking exercise into your day is using stretchy cords. These are available at most retailers that offer yoga mats. They look like
large rubber bands. Used the proper way, stretchy cords give the same kind of resistance as weight lifting. While you are sitting at your desk reading
your email, or watching your favorite television slip the cords around your feet. Place feet on the floor and pull upwards, exercising your arms and shoulders. The cords come with diagrams or photos showing the many different exercises available.
